Purpose of the role

The Colas Graduate Programme is a structured development programme that spans over 2 to 3 years. It is specifically designed to help graduates make a successful transition into the start of their professional career, by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
Our programme provides a diverse range of opportunities for development and to gain experiences that will enable graduates to gain the attributes required for professional accreditation in their chosen fields.
Main Responsibilities
Colas have an exciting opportunity for two Graduate Data Analysts to join our graduate programme. The Graduate Data Analyst will be responsible for the coordination of the contractual performance indicators and reporting to stakeholders in compliance with business defined processes, the contract and internal business performance indicators.
The Graduate Data Analyst will be involved but not limited to, the following duties: Maintaining data and computer files in accordance with the Quality Management system and requirements, carry out quality analysis, and contribute to Quality Reports and Corrective Action Plans for all aspects of Contractual Performance, updating KPIs and implementing dashboards into presentations and reports, attend and participate in Team Briefings and be involved in the creation and maintenance of performance graphs and tables using Excel (Xlookups, Pivots).
Ideal Candidate
Our graduate programme is open to graduates from all disciplines. The ideal candidates for this role will have a degree in Data Analytics degree or a degree which involves data analysis. A good understanding of the highways maintenance operations is desirable, not essential. Any experience with Data Analysts, data mining, data modelling and data sets is advantageous.
The Graduate Data Analysts will have the ability to communicate and present at all levels both written and verbal. You will have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience using V Look-ups, pivot tables and PowerBi is essential. As a Graduate Data Analyst you will have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Problem solving/Analytical thinking is key within this role as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. A clean UK driving licence is essential for this programme.
