Our Specialist Surface Treatment Division provide expertise in repairing, protecting, and extending the usable lifespan of infrastructure roads, footways, and other surfaces. Using innovative and unique specialist surface treatment solutions which help maintain safety standards and extend the life of roads by up to 10 years. Due to growth in the department, we are recruiting for a Graduate Technical Writer to be part of an Operational Team in assisting with the preparation and completion of prequalification and tender submissions for Colas Green solutions of Surface Treatments & Recycling.
Responsibilities
The Graduate Technical Writer will support Senior Bid Writers, Bid Writers, and Solution Leads as directed and produce well-structured written Green Offer responses to Clients’ requirements and agreed company solution. You will be tasked with client research, document reviews, answer planning, storyboarding, quality submission construction, and taking review feedback on board to ensure continuous improvement. We are keen for the Graduate Technical Writer to help support our Bid Apprentices with any technical advice and to provide support for the development and maintenance of a Colas Knowledge Bank. You will work closely with operational business units and the wider Colas Group in developing and completing written Green Offer responses.
The Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate for this role will be a flexible and motivated graduate who has a genuine passion for Technical Writing and has a desire to develop their existing skills and acquire new technical competences to enhance their personal and team capabilities. You will hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Journalism, History or Law and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. We are also looking for someone who has a willingness to act as a One Planet Champion contributing to environmental and social value outcomes, in which we will provide access to training and support to do so.
