Role Purpose

This role is an opportunity to join the UK (North Region) Project Management team, supporting the delivery of Colt data, voice and 3rd party solutions via Customer projects

  • You will learn and provide admin support to other Project Managers/ Directors on our Project Management system - Clarizen
  • You will learn and support on Project Governance/ Methodology items; Project Reporting/ Comms items; Project engagements, quotations, and proposals
  • When ready, you will lead one or more project work-streams as part of larger Global projects or programmes
  • When ready, you will be required to support one or more projects, therefore a high degree of own time management is needed. You may also be required to support other projects or work-streams as part of larger Global projects or programmes
  • In doing so, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within a predefined revenue/cost plan and to the customer’s specification, using the Project Management methodology and company standard processes. To enable that, you will work as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Customers will need to communicate with you in English language, therefore these skills must be strong in both written and verbal communications
  • The role is aligned to UK/EU business hours, therefore some out of UK/EU business hours engagement will also be required to support customer project activities
  • A limited amount of overseas (UK) travel may be required in the future

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrate the Clarizen system on behalf of the overall Project and Programme Management Practice
  • Lead a virtual project team to successfully implement project deliverables
  • Act as single point of contact for the project to the customer, and internally
  • Report progress toward project goals against schedules and budgets accurately and timely
  • Earn customer trust, and represent Colt with professionalism at all times
  • Report project time accurately and timely via timesheets
  • Manage expectations and provide effort estimates for all changes
  • Drive and document timely completion of project deliverables
  • Escalate project exceptions quickly and transparently
  • Communicate and document customer expectations, and deliver to exceed those expectations 
  • Avert and resolve customer issues, thereby creating customer satisfaction
  • Provide leadership to the delivery team
  • Ensure correct information (in orders) is passed to delivery personnel
  • Manage project risks and issuesManage, track and report on project finances

Skills & Experience

  • Aspiration to build a career as a certified Project Manager
  • Aspiration to work in an IT delivery function, delivering managed network and voice solutions to Colt customers
  • Good experience & capabilities in MS applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills

Qualifications

  • None required: although college/ university modules/ courses in Project Management will factor strongly in our decision making process
  • Previous experience as a PM/ Junior PM will also be considered – e.g. as part of a college/ university course
  • Essential: Fluency in English language
