The Cash Management Operations and Control area manages the transfer of all monies both internally and externally to issuers, shareholders, participants and all other third parties.  It is also responsible for the reconciliation of all client held funds and assets, and the provision of all management reporting for the activities it undertakes both internally to the business and externally to regulators and, where appropriate, other third parties.

We have multiple opportunities for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract in the Reconciliations Team.

 

 

A role you will love

As a Reconciliations Analyst you will be responsible for the timely completion of the reconciliation of cash and asset accounts operated for and on behalf of our clients. You will identify discrepancies and keep up to date with the appropriate annotation for timely reporting to the wider business which includes Senior Management.

You will continually review established procedures to identify and implement effective process improvements which is crucial to the success of the department. They will play a major role in ensuring all client money and safe custody assets are held and reconciled in accordance with internal policies and procedures, and where applicable FCA guidelines.

As a taster of the role, here are some of the daily responsibilities and the experience required to be successful in role

  • Ensure all assets are reconciled fully, accurately and within the prescribed timescales

  • Identify and escalate all reconciliation discrepancies in accordance with the relevant policy and/or regulatory guidelines

  • Monitor and follow up discrepancies that are being investigated by other internal business units or third parties through to satisfactory resolution

  • Meet standards and deadlines established by the direct line manager

  • Adhere to procedures while also focusing on improving efficiencies within the established tasks

  • All procedures carried out have up to date process notes in line with any changes to working practice

  • Liaise with other departments within Computershare to understand and resolve differences

  • Take ownership and be able to respond to queries on the accounts from within CMOC as well as other areas of the business

  • Comply with operational risk and regulatory Control policies and procedures, make sure any breaches to regulations are reported

 

What will you bring to the role?  

You don’t necessarily need a finance background to apply for this position, but you must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and a vested interest in the world of finance.

 

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • Administrative background, organised and have a keen eye for detail

  • Innovative and willing to take initiative – looking for improvements and thinking outside the box

  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed

  • Ability to prioritise and work well under deadline pressure

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills & high degree of numeracy

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • Technically minded and able to adapt to different IT systems

 

Desirable/non-essential Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • A level Mathematics or equivalent

  • Experience of successfully working within a role which is highly numeric or technical

  • Knowledge of the products and services provided by Computershare, particularly employee share plans

  • An understanding of the FCA CASS rules 

 

Additional Information

As part of your application, you may be required to complete some short online assessments which are designed to measure your numerical, checking, and verbal reasoning. These assessments should take around 45 minutes to complete.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week and fixed at 9am-5pm. This is to facilitate daily tasks which require completing as part of the reconciliations process.

During the pandemic we are operating a remote working model and it’s likely that you will work remotely until it is safe to return to the office at our Bristol HQ (BS13 8AE). Therefore, you must be within a reasonable commutable distance and be able to commute 5 days a week.
