    The role 

    We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic and friendly House & Garden Editorial Team. You will be responsible for fulfilling key iterative administrative processes using Condé Nast’s Editorial systems, including liaising with wider Condé Nast departments, external contributors and readers, to support the smooth running of the department.

    The team 

    House & Garden, launched in 1947, showcases the best in international design and decoration from around the world and is a definitive source of home inspiration –  in print, online and across its social channels. The Editorial team of 23 is based in central London, currently at Vogue House (moving to the Adelphi building off The Strand in the New Year). You will report to the Editorial Operations Manager to support the whole Editorial team as directed.

    What will you be doing? 

    • Provide editorial operations support – in consultation with the managing editor and the wider editorial team – to request contracts, send out and chase commissioning notes, chase and administrate invoices, and support the ‘onboarding’ of new contributors and suppliers. 
    • Support the editorial workflow, including sending monthly Draft Content lists for circulation and content running sheets for the subbing and art teams.
    • Support story tracking, creating job numbers utilising Condé’s content planning systems, and contributing to ensuring methodical and consistent story referencing. 
    • Using the CN travel system, book hotel and flights and other ad-hoc travel, working collaboratively with the team and responding in a timely manner.
    • Provide ad-hoc support to the Art and Features teams, when possible, with deadline-sensitive administrative co-ordination.
    • Book and co-ordinate meetings and assist with the end-to-end arrangement of
    • House & Garden events. 
    • Support the team to use the CN expense system, including creating expense reports for the Editor.
    • Support the smooth running of the office environment.

    There is the potential to get involved creatively by contributing to editorial content.

    Who you are

    • A strong communicator, with the proven ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
    • A track record of taking a flexible and proactive approach to problem solving.
    • Proven ability to be extremely organised, self-motivated and, if needed, self-reliant.
    • Happy managing a busy recurrent workload.
    • A personable, productive and patient manner.
    • Enthusiasm for the subjects of the magazine – design, architecture, gardens, travel and food.
    • Experience of supporting with organising events is advantageous.
