We’ve been around for over 100 years and work in more than 80 different countries. We work with our customers to provide different types of insurance - property casualty, life, retirement and other financial services too. AIG Life is working to become Corebridge.

    Get to know the business

Be part of a company that’s helping look after people’s financial futures. At AIG, we’re the experts in protection. It’s what we do. We look after over 1.8 million people, to provide different kinds of insurance products – life insurance, income protection, critical illness cover and more. Those words might not mean a lot to you now, but they will by the end of your time with us.

You’ll be part of a business that helps people live better lives - it’s not only about the financial protection over here. From day one, our customers get help with making the most of their insurance through our award-winning health and wellbeing service Smart Health. Sounds good, right?

So if you join us, you’ll be in a team who really believe the best things we do in life, we do for others. You’ll be in a team who love nothing more than seeing people grow and develop at work. And you’ll be in a team that work hard for each other.

    Programme Description

Joining the AIG Summer Internship Program is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into our industry. Summer interns are placed into meaningful and influential roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business.

The Summer Internship Program lasts approximately 10 weeks and is targeted to students in the penultimate year of their undergraduate or graduate education.  After initial orientation, summer interns will join one of our business lines, each of which offers a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse and global environment. In addition to the experience acquired on the job, summer interns have the opportunity to learn directly from senior management, and participate in webinars, discussion forums, and networking receptions.

Summer interns establish goals with their managers during the first week, and the goals are measured at the mid and end points of the summer.  Successful summer interns may be considered for full-time positions to begin summer of 2024.

    About the Role

We’re looking for people who want the summer of 2023 to be their best one yet. You’ll be someone who’s enthusiastic about getting on-the-job industry experience. Over your ten weeks with us, you’ll have a real insight into working in marketing for one of the UK’s largest life insurers and we promise to fully embed you into our team.

    Here’s the detail

    • If you want a career in marketing, then look no further. If you’ve already got some experience that’s great, but it’s not a deal-breaker for us.
    • You’ll be working on high profile campaign work as well as day-to-day marketing activity.
    • We’ll make sure you get stuck in and give you opportunities to work on email, social media and website management to name just a few.

    What we’re looking for

    • Someone who’s creative and ready to roll their sleeves up.
    • An organisation pro - if you’ve got expert planning skills then we want to hear from you.
    • We’re in the business of talking to people, so a good set of communication skills is a must have.
    • A team player - we’re a close bunch at AIG (and pretty fun if we may say so ourselves).

    Why work for us

You’ll be joining an award-winning marketing team. We’re creative, ambitious and hard-working, and we’re really passionate about what we do. As a marketing department with a wide-ranging remit, you’ll find there’s plenty of areas to develop your career. And most importantly, you’ll be part of team that supports each other, whether it comes to meeting deadlines or looking after each other’s wellbeing.

    Benefits

    • A competitive salary for your 10-week period.
    • Hybrid working is embedded to our culture here at AIG, so you’ll have the opportunity to work from home and in the office.
    • We’ll partner you with a buddy to show you the ropes and mentor you throughout your time.

    Equal Opportunities Matter

At AIG, our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. The different experiences and backgrounds of the people that work here is what makes the business tick. And it’s an organisation where everyone can really and truly be themselves.

There’s employee-led groups for all sorts of areas of inclusion and a great team of mental health first aiders looking out for everyone’s welfare. If you’re open-minded, smart and up for a challenge, come and be you at AIG.
