Programme Oversight
When getting started you can look forward to getting involved variety of areas including Data. You will get to immerse yourself in the following types of tasks:
- Data Quality initiatives
- Supporting the implementation of the Data Governance framework in the society
- Data Engineering and creation of data pipelines
- Reporting & Data Analysis across a range of sources (e.g. relational and dimensional databases, file systems, semi-structured and unstructured data, models, spreadsheets, OLAP cubes)
- Visualisation & generation of Dashboards (Power BI, Cognos, SAS VAAR)
- Data Science, understand coding and model development as well as how we productionise and operational algorithms in a business setting
After that you’ll be based in one department, fully engrossing yourself in long term projects, fulfilling the role of a Data & Insight specialist.
Attending development days and take on both individual and group projects that will allow you to network and build strong relationships across the Society will be expected. Personal growth is also important to us so we’ll also provide support and time for it.

About you
For this opportunity you’ll have an inquisitive nature; someone who wants to delve into the data and understand the underlying processes, how it can be used and manipulated to generate reliable insights. You'll be someone who can be creative with data, showcase it in exciting and different meaningful ways! You’ll be a problem solver with the ability to interpret, analyse and then communicate complex data to a varied audience.
You will:
- Already have or will expect to get a minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in the last 3 years
- A quantitative degree, such as Maths, Statistics, Data Science, Computer science, Physics or Engineering
- Be self-aware, with the confidence to work independently and the passion to continuously improve
- Have an inquisitive nature and be able to communicate confidently
It would be beneficial if you have an understanding of or experience in analytical modelling techniques and have used programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
