Role overview
As a Graduate Engineering Geologist, you'll have the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. Working alongside our Senior Engineering Geologists you'll be accountable for undertaking geological, geotechnical, and rock engineering tasks while developing your career on technically challenging projects.
You'll also be supported with your on-going professional development (including assistance towards becoming a Chartered Geologist) with a tailored plan to achieve your career ambitions.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:
- Undertaking engineering geological, geotechnical and rock engineering work to meet project requirements
- Preparing calculations, undertaking regional- and site-scale engineering geological local and global structural modelling, writing reports and checking drawings
- Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers
- With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload, reporting back on progress against a project budget and programme
- Being responsible for delivering your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a diligent and conscientious approach to self-checking
- Attending site visits or client meetings as required

Furthermore, you'll:
- You'll be studying to obtain a BSc in Geology together with an MSc in either Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering and aspire to achieve chartership
- Ideally have some experience of working in a design environment (year in industry or summer placements)
- Be familiar with either UK standards or equivalent European codes.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding and passion for the application of geology to engineering projects and a personal commitment to technical excellence
- Have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
