    Role overview

    As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. Working alongside our Senior Engineer's you'll be accountable for undertaking basic calculations of design work while developing your career on technically challenging projects.

    You'll also be supported by our engineers on your on-going professional development (Chartership) with a tailored plan to achieve your career ambitions.

    On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:

    • Producing engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements
    • Preparing calculations, writing desk study reports, ground investigation reports and geotechnical design reports, preparing ground investigation specifications
    • Checking design calculations, reports and drawings done by other engineers
    • With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload, reporting back on progress against a project budget and programme
    • Being responsible for delivering your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a diligent and conscientious approach to self-checking
    • Attending site visits, supervising ground investigations and client meetings as required.

    Furthermore, you'll:

    • You'll be studying to obtain a Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng) in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology, preferably hold a post-graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and aspire to become a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Geologist.
    • Ideally have some experience of working in a design environment (year in industry or summer placements)
    • Be familiar with either UK standards
    • Possess an understanding of CDM Regulations
    • Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
    • Have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
