Do you want to help save the world's forests and contribute to solving the climate and biodiversity crisis? Do you enjoy working with data? CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in all aspects of the operation and development of its ground-breaking forests work. If you are a motivated self-starter who enjoys taking ownership of a project and you want to contribute significantly to the vital work of CDP in reducing and ultimately removing deforestation from corporate supply chains, this is the role for you.
Deforestation currently accounts for 10-15% of the world’s GHG emissions and halting it is critical for the ending climate change and biodiversity loss. Businesses’ production and procurement decisions have the power to alter global demand for the agricultural commodities that are the primary drivers of agricultural deforestation and forest degradation: soy, palm oil, cattle and timber products, natural rubber, cocoa, coffee.
About CDP
CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The world’s economy looks to CDP as the gold standard of environmental reporting with the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action.
About the Forests Team
CDP’s forests work aims to remove commodity-driven deforestation from corporate value chains to effectively contribute to a no more than 1.5°C, water secure world. The work provides critical forests-related data from the world’s largest corporations that buy, sell or trade key forests risk commodities (cattle products, palm oil, soy products and timber products). The data is used to inform the global marketplace on investment risk and commercial opportunity, and to catalyze action, supporting companies in their efforts to remove deforestation from their supply chains.
