    This Summer Internship Programme offers practical work experience in a large, global investment bank. You will be able to gain valuable insight into the M&A Team, where you will further develop your skills and knowledge with guidance from business leaders and surrounding team.

    The eight - twelve-week programme will run during summer 2024. You will attend an induction and networking session during the first week. Throughout the programme, you will be assigned meaningful tasks by your team with clear objectives and responsibilities outlined weekly.

    This programme will be a hands on experience in order to help set you up for a successful career, once graduated.

    Key responsibilities

    Assist the team in the preparation of marketing materials and pitches to both infrastructure fund and corporate clients.

    The UK GIB team is specialised in Power & Infrastructure M&A, and so topics will involve transactions or prospective transactions across the Transport, Social Infrastructure, Renewables, Power and TMT Infrastructure sectors, for topics in the UK and also selected other European geographies.

    • The intern should contribute to the origination and execution of M&A transactions within the relevant sectors, including:
      • Assistance in preparation of marketing pitches in full co-ordination with the rest of the GIB team, Sector Coverage, and other product teams
      • Assistance in the execution of mandates (buy side or sell side): process organisation, assistance in financial analysis and presentation materials, assistance in creation of transaction support documents;
    • Review in-house training materials to get up to speed on valuations and other M&A skills;
    • Seek and receive guidance from other bankers on technical aspects;
    • Attend team meetings and participate in the day-to-day life of the department.
    • Assistance to senior management and other team members in all other areas of the business as required.
    • Precise split of time will be determined on an ongoing basis dependent on business requirements at the time.

    Candidate criteria

    To be eligible for the programme, you must be an undergraduate who will be returning to University after you have completed the internship.

    No previous experience is required, we are looking for students who are intrigued and motivated to learn more about the technology and financial world and are committed to learning more about a specific business area. The below skills will be essential:
