The MTNs, Private Placements & Commercial Paper Group is a Globally integrated fixed income syndicate business serving CACIBs issuer and investor clients within the broader Global Markets Division. The team, which is based across the world’s key financial hubs (London, Paris, Hong-Kong and Tokyo), generates primary fixed income opportunities and executes these trades in both vanilla and structured format across all tenors from overnight to 100 years.
The role
The candidate will support the Global team in the execution of new issue Private Placement & Commercial Paper transactions: providing MTNPPCP team members with all preparatory work for them to act as an interface between issuers and investors. This will involve working closely with colleagues across the firm to provide CACIBs whole customer base with a superior service and expertise for originating, distributing, pricing, and risk management solutions.
The role available is a 12-month position within the MTNs, Private Placements & Commercial Paper team based in London.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy and Business Planning
The candidate should assist in private placement opportunities across the entire geographical coverage of the platform with particular focus on EMEA. This will involve preparing possible transactions and providing market flow updates in order for MTNPPCP team members to obtain and execute mandates from the issuers. The candidate will also be responsible for participating in a culture of product ‘cross-selling’ between bonds and derivative platforms and supporting the MTNPPCP team members in their day – to – day duties.
2. Daily MTNPPCP & Administrative Responsibilities
These will include:
- Pricing runs and termsheet preparation
- Market monitoring and idea generation
- Ensure call notification workflow is monitored and actioned.
- Database management
- Post trade functions
- Booking under supervision
- MTM
- Bloomberg & league table management
- Reporting for internal purposes on state of the business
- Pipeline management
- Client and internal marketing preparation
- Liaison with CA-CIB’s sales forces/structuring desks: providing indicative levels and seeking market feedback, promoting issuers’ names, co-ordinate settlement and documentation issues.
- Facilitate secondary / buy back and restructuring transaction by liaising with issuers
- Liaise with other internal stakeholders in the MTN business, including support functions (Back offices, middle office, credit, compliance, IT).
- Development of internal deal flow
3. Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
