About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Battery Pack Electrical Design to join our team specializing in engineering for our Accelera Business Segment in Milton Keynes. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Opportunity to participate within the product development team alongside mechanical, electrical & thermal engineers with particular focus on product design.
- Understanding of fundamental electrical design, product development cycle & designing in context.
- Design components using CAD systems, to meet technical requirements in context with a focus on low-cost, design for manufacture & assembly.
- Document design principles across a wide range of commodities & co-ordinate some basic analysis on those designs.
- First-hand experience of concept through to detail design and work on proactively identifying potential failure modes via engineering toolsets (such as DFMEA’s, DVP&R’s, 8D & Fault-tree analysis)
- Will have a chance to see their designs in the flesh via component testing, system level validation and prototype builds.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- We are looking for a student studying for a technical degree in any of the following fields: STEM Degree / Electrical Engineering / Other Science and Engineering Degrees are also considered.
- We are looking for a student with an interest in electrification and Li-ion batteries.
- Knowledge of CAD skill (Creo, Solidworks, Autodesk, etc.) would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of Electrical engineering would be beneficial.
