About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrochemistry to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Accelera Business Segment in Milton Keynes. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Participate within team of electrochemistry engineers and technicians supporting electrochemical characterization of Li-ion cell technology,
- Understanding and differentiating the effect of the cathode and anode materials has at cell level on the performance.
- Lead analysis on the study of differing external conditions has on the effect on the cell performance, the cycle life and calendar life.
- Test data that will be analyzed, characterized and reported, with target deliverable to publish in a scientific journal.
- Continued improvement of in-house research projects, supporting advanced engineering activities
- Participating in designing and validating new testing equipment to provide greater testing and validation of the key parameters that have inputs into other engineering functions such as mechanical and thermal management.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Pure and /or Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Other STEM Degrees are also considered.
- Have an interest in electrochemistry and Li-ion batteries.
- Team player will knowledgeable transfer skills and good understanding of MS office, with a strong work ethics, Sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills with being able to work efficiently. Also work effectively as part of a small self-directed team as well as good engagement with the wider business.
