About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Electronic Systems Product Engineer - Graduate to join our team specialising in Engineering for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry, Northamptonshire. During your time with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Required to design, validate, and release electronic hardware systems, including sensors, actuators, ECMs, wiring harness and associated hardware that controls the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications.
- Investigate and solve new and current product problems either virtually, in test cells or at customer sites using standard industry tools such as the 7-step problem-solving process, FTA and FMEA.
- Working with other sub-system teams you will assist placement and mounting of electronic hardware including ECMs, sensors, actuators, and connections to external devices.
- Design and analyse wiring harnesses, mounting hardware and control panels to meet system requirements.
- Obtain input and negotiate with other sub system teams to deliver optimised and validated electronic hardware systems, gaining appropriate approvals from stakeholders such as manufacturing, service, and program management.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical or electrical Engineering qualification
- A mechanical engineer with an interest or experience in electrical systems or.
- An electrical engineer with an interest in the mechanical application of electronic hardware.
- Previous exposure to a CAD design tool.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
