    The Role

    We are looking for an enthusiastic Health, Safety and Environment Placement Student to join the Accelera UK team, supporting approximately 100 employees in Milton Keynes and smaller groups based at other sites across the UK. The successful candidate will work within the Electrified Power segment of Accelera within Cummins, based at the Milton Keynes site.

    You would be expected to be onsite for at least half the week, allowing flexibility for home-based working the remainder of the week. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Partnering directly with employees and managers on all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental.
    • Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis, aspect and Impact Assessments.
    • HSE data collection, reporting and analytics, Ergonomics along with HSE Training.
    • Occupational Hygiene, Emergency Properness and Response.
    • Incident Reporting, investigation, root cause analysis and Preventative Action Management.
    • Partnering directly with employees and managers on all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental.

    • Electrical Safety, Lithium-Ion Battery Safety, Environmental Management System and Safety Legal Compliance (COSHH, PUWER, LOLER etc.).

    What you will need

    • We are looking for a student with a growth mindset and specific interest in Health, Safety and Environmental with a commitment to helping people be safe.
    • A passion for learning and an inclusive, diverse approach with an interest in renewable energy or batteries would be a plus! But certainly not essential.
    • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of data accuracy is also essential.
    • You should be studying for a degree in either Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Risk Management, Environmental Science / Sustainability, Fire Safety Management or Oil and Gas Safety Engineering. Other Science/Engineering or Business-related degrees are also considered.
