    We are looking for an enthusiastic Power Electronics Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Accelera Business Segment in Peterborough. This is a full-time, hybrid position working 37.5 hours per week. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

    What you'll do

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • The role actively involves participating in the entire product development cycle. From the initial stages of ideation and conceptualization to the later phases of prototyping, testing, and final production
    • Gain hands-on experience in the development process will foster critical problem-solving skills and an appreciation for iterative improvement
    • Collaborate closely with experienced power electronics and electromagnetics design engineers to create cutting-edge solutions that cater to specific market needs
    • Delve into fundamental electrical design principles, acquiring a deep understanding of how the physical and electrical aspects of the product come together to craft robust and efficient designs that withstand real-world demands
    • Looking at the technical intricacies but also the economic feasibility, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance of products
    • Meet market demands and align with business objectives

    What you'll need

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Studying towards a degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering, or suitable STEM degree (other degrees are also considered)
    • Knowledge and strong awareness of power electronics and electrical machines topologies
    • Experience with programming languages
    • Experience with microcontrollers as well as hands on experience with lab equipment
