The role you'll play
You’ll join as a Graduate Civil Engineer within our Civil Engineering team to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in the UK and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you’ll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.
Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers, this wide-ranging role will see you carrying out water flow and highways design including; flood risk assessments, hydrological assessments, road horizontal and vertical alignment, and earthworks analysis.
This role will require you to use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design.
You’ll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with accredited professional development programmes from the ICE and IStructE, you’ll be supported towards Chartership.
The skills you'll bring
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree
Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve an MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
Have a keen interest in civil design and analysis for the built environment, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design
Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, be organised and methodical when managing tasks, priorities and deadlines.
Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB)
Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude
