The Central Promo Planning team sits at the heart of Currys’ ambition to help everyone enjoy amazing technology and make every day better than ever. The purpose of this role is to support the development, planning and execution of key marketing events in which Currys help our customers enjoy amazing technology and driving profitable growth.

You will work closely with key business functions including all customer communication channels and a matrix of stakeholders. This is an exciting and important role where no week will ever be the same from one week to the next. As we move into the event execution phase, you will support the Promo Planning Managers by leading on our deals list collation process, a key deliverable to successful events.

Alongside supporting the Promo Planning Team, you will also help support Marketing Planning with administrative work to ensure planning and execution of Amazing Tech & Amazing Offer campaigns, including managing the campaign milestone critical path tracker.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Promo Planning & Marketing Planning Managers with the management and maintenance of key process documents such as Quarterly Promo & Event Planning Process (QPEP) documents and Marketing Briefing Sheets (MBS) documents
  • Capturing actions through the QPEP sessions, ensuring owners are clear and following up on these actions to ensure they are delivered across the Commercial team
  • Support the Promo Planning Managers with the creation, tracking and management of promo deals lists for key trade and gifting events throughout the year
  • Where owning events: create amazing briefs, manage your event through the QPEP and sign off the plan
  • Support the Marketing Planning Managers with the management and maintenance of the Campaign Milestone Critical Path Analysis (CPA) tracker
  • Support Marketing Planning through the Comms Steering sessions, ensuring the creation of weekly packs and tracking of actions across the channel leads
  • Support with ad hoc Promo Planning & Marketing Planning actions needed such as Course Correction

Required skills, experience & qualifications

  • Effective problem-solving acumen
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with good attention to detail to ensure line level accuracy
  • Marketing experience desirable – ideally in the fast-paced retail environment
  • Good level of commercial acumen is ideal
  • Strong level of initiative and critical thinking to proactively find solutions
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit and cash
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, capable of presenting to team forums as well as working cross functionally to achieve the desired results
  • Must be a driven individual who can demonstrate strong tenacity and resilience
  • Marketing/Business degree desirable
