    Role purpose

    Our four-week paid internship is a demanding yet rewarding combination of learning and hands on experience, offering a fantastic way to understand more about the world of real estate and give you a taste of professional life as well as a head start on your future career.

    Whether you are currently completing a Building Surveying degree or are studying another subject but have a keen interest in property, this internship is a great opportunity to learn more about commercial real estate and see whether our industry, and our business, is right for you. Following completion of the internship, candidates who excel may be offered a place on a future graduate scheme.

    You will gain hands-on experience working on a range of projects, giving you insights on how to advise clients on real estate as well as general business skills. You will work have a chance to go to client meetings, site visits and much more! The programme also offers you the opportunity to work with other interns within your cohort, giving you a chance to build your network.

    A career in Building Consultancy can be incredibly varied, covering a wide range of services which shape the built environment. At Cushman & Wakefield we advise the world’s leading investors, developers and occupiers on how they own, occupy and manage real estate.

    Building Surveyors are responsible for assessing the quality of buildings. They look for ways in which buildings can be improved. Specifically, they advise on options for repair, maintenance, or restoration. Building Surveyors will be involved in the development of new buildings, and existing buildings.

    The programme

    As an intern at Cushman & Wakefield you will be contributing to the team you are working with from the start, valued for your contribution and the different perspectives you bring. You will work on projects which will give you experience of what it means to work in commercial real estate, whilst developing new skills and gaining invaluable insights to our business.

    As well as the team you will be working with you will have full access to our Global Internship programme, so that you, along with hundreds of interns across the globe, will be invited to hear from experts from around our business to understand what a career at Cushman & Wakefield could offer you.

    As part of the intern programme we also host discussion panels, Q&As with senior leaders and deliver training sessions, as well as networking sessions throughout the time you are with us.

    Eligibility

    Our Building Surveying Internship is open to all degree disciplines, recognising transferable skills from a wide range of university courses. You do not have to be on a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited course – we strongly encourage you to apply if you have an interest and want to step into the world of commercial real estate. However, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Expected 2.1 undergraduate degree classification / equivalent MSc
    • Must be in penultimate year of study
    • Grade ‘C/4’ GCSE grade in both Maths and English
