The group is looking for a placement student to undertake work for the New Product Development function, within our state-of-the-art plant near Cookstown, for 9 - 12 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitable candidate to work across both our Research & Development and Technical functions and would be ideal for those looking for a career in the food industry to gain valuable experience within a large blue-chip organisation.
The role
The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a production factory environment that delivers best in class standards and performance. You will work with cutting edge development tools to improve process efficiency and productivity, whilst maintaining world class awarding winning product portfolio.
You will assist in developing standards and procedures for product and process measurement that will provide insight to drive performance, through undertaking project work, involving data analysis and trends. The role is a factory-based quality/sampling role that includes:
- Testing incoming raw milk (at the vats), work in progress, efficiencies, finished and then through to the matured product.
- Creating calibration of new equipment to generate learnings.
- Capture and transfer of all data timeously
- Presenting this information to the New Product Development team
- Liaison with external suppliers
- Maintain supply inventory.
This is a Monday to Friday shift-based role, involving working from 2pm -10pm and on occasion, night shift if required.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced role in which the successful candidate will be adaptable and flexible in helping with changing site requirements and have the ability to work on own initiative or within a team and will have great attention to detail and analytical skills.
About you
The successful candidate will be highly organised, competent and motivated, with the energy and determination to make a difference through strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and show attention to detail. Excellent IT skills are essential, in particular excel.
You will have a strong academic record and be working towards or have recently completed a degree in a relevant discipline such as Food Science or equivalent.
