IDBS offers student placement positions for software testers within the Engineering department, which are typically one-year placements starting each summer.
The role
The objective of the placement is to gain industrial experience in the use of agile software development practices, additionally gaining proficiency as a tester.
The IDBS Software Engineering department consists of agile, self-organising, feature teams having ownership of development, test, and support of discrete areas of functionality within our product suite. Working closely with Product Managers and Business Analysts we rapidly deliver additional value to the business. As a member of the testing team, you will work with other testers and developers sharing responsibility for crafting high-quality data management and analytic software for use across the pharmaceutical, life-science, and healthcare industries. You will analyse problems, build tests using modern automated test tools and technologies, and seek to find and help tackle problems in the software we produce. Support, mentorship, and on-the-job training will be given as needed, so previous experience in Software Testing is not essential.
About you
To be eligible for this role you must be currently enrolled on a university honours or masters degree course that has a “placement year in industry” (or similar) associated to it. Please do not apply if you are graduating in 2023 and seeking a permanent graduate position.
