    The role

    We are excited to be recruiting for an ambitious Graduate Developer to join our highly skilled team, wherein you will receive training through our PEGA academy, and have exposure to exciting internal projects, and excellent progression opportunities.

    As Graduate Developer, you will develop, build and maintain stand-alone digital solutions that meet the requirements of the business and enhance the customer value proposition and customer service standards in NI.

    The team is responsible for the development and delivery of a customer centric digital transformation programme across all areas of the Bank, with the aim of building first class digital customer experiences through maximising the use of existing digital capability and the successful integration of new and emerging third party technology solutions.

    What you’ll do

    As Graduate Developer, your responsibility will be to:

    • To understand the specific needs of the business as defined by a specification of requirements and assess how these translate into application features.
    • To design and deliver new digital solutions that meet business specifications on time and within budget.
    • To collaborate with IT specialists in the specification of new applications, the design of prototypes and write source codes to program complete solutions.
    • To conduct a comprehensive program of testing before the launch of new digital solutions to ensure all features are working as expected.
    • To support the effective operation of existing applications by trouble shooting and debugging where issues are identified.
    • To evaluate existing applications in order to reprogram, update and add new features
    • To maintain and develop technical knowledge, learning and sharing best practice with local and Group colleagues, to ensure the business is provided with a professional and high quality service.
    • Work supportively, co-operatively and in partnership with colleagues across T&DD, DBNI and Group to ensure business objectives are achieved.
    • Ensure full compliance with all Corporate Standards, Policies, Processes and Business Procedures and with all external legal, regulatory and voluntary code obligations, thus enabling the customer to be provided with a high quality, professional and compliant service.
    • To ensure all activities are aligned to the Bank’s values thereby ensuring fair treatment of all customers and positive customer outcomes.

     What skills / qualifications will you need?

    Essential

    • Degree in a Computer Science related discipline
    • 12 months commercial experience coding in Java
    • A keen interest in coding and a desire to learn new concepts
    • Experience of designing data flows
    • Experience of Agile development methods
    • Experience of tools such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
    • Ability to interact successfully with project stakeholders and manage these relationships effectively
    • Experience in interpreting Business analysis and technical specification for development
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

    Preferred

    • Experience of customer journeys
    • Experience of leveraging APIs and SI components for data transfer
    • Experience of DevOps code review and deployment to test and production environments

    Salary & Benefits

    • Starting salary of £29,684
    • 37 days’ leave per year (27 days’ annual leave plus 10 paid bank holidays).
    • Company pension contribution – we will contribute up to 10% of your salary.

    The job role may require travel to Copenhagen, and possibly other areas of the Group. Such travel may be outside normal business hours and require overnight stays.
