About the role
We are looking for a professional, competent and enthusiastic Graduate Environmental Health Officer who is able to manage a demanding and varied caseload. You will be joining a friendly, busy and professional team.
Whilst you are working with us, you will be supported in your training/experience required to complete your professional exams in order to become a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. You will gain experience across all five technical areas required to complete your Portfolio and Professional Discussion. Upon completion you will work towards gaining experience within all aspects of work covered by the Environmental Protection Team, including air quality, acoustics, contaminated land and statutory nuisance.
Candidates for this post must have gained their Masters or Batchelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health. This is an opportunity to be supported to gain your additional professional qualifications and experience whilst being fully employed. With a desire to provide the best possible customer service, you will be able to work with minimum supervision and keen to contribute proactively to the strong team-working ethos. An ability to keep accurate records and be able to produce reports, gather legal evidence and produce legal case files is essential.
At the end of the two year contract, and subject to the successful completion of your Portfolio and Professional Discussion, you will be welcome to apply for any vacant Environmental Health Officer post available at the time.
