    Dassault Systèmes UK Ltd is looking for an Intern to join us during 2023 for an exciting role!

    What will your role be?

    The Sheffield R&D office is responsible for the SIMULIA Durability solver running on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. In addition to 3DEXPERIENCE, the Durability solver drives the established product fe-safe, a standalone on-premise rich client which is a core part of the power-of-the-portfolio initiative. The QA team work closely with the developers and are an integral part of the process from design through to release. The team is well supported by an onsite physical test suite of Windows and Linux machines.

    The challenge ahead

    • The primary role of the intern will be to perform release testing on all Durability products. The role will initially concern execution of both manual and automated test scripts, matching results and logging defects. It is expected that the candidate will quickly be able to contribute to the current initiative to transition existing manual test scripts to the growing automated test suite.
    • As Sheffield is a relatively small R&D site, the role of QA Engineer can also include other tasks. It is expected that the candidate will assist in these areas too.     Your key success factors:

    • Currently studying for a Degree or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering
    • You may offer some experience across a range of software testing, including functional testing, regression testing, PCS testing, usability testing and security testing, which would be advantageous
    • Knowledge of different models for software development is beneficial
    • Previous experience of source control tools, e.g. Git/Subversion is useful
    • Experience of Project Management, Bug Tracking tools such as TRAC or Jira is a plus
    • Knowledge of Javascript is a bonus
    • Experience with Linux is a benefit for the role
    • Basic knowledge of ISO standards (9001) would be considered
    • Passionate about software development, and eager to acquire new skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to present technical information in a clear and succinct manner to peers and management, willing to share ideas across the team
    • Able to adapt quickly to changing requirements and complexities
    • Able to work independently
    • Proven ability to provide estimates of effort and time for planning
    • A natural willingness to look for inefficiencies and opportunities to improve performance and reliability
