De la Rue are currently recruiting for a Graduate Bid and Commercial Executive to join their Currency Commercial team.  This is an entry level role designed to build the skills and knowledge of the Bid, Commercial & Pricing functions within the Commercial function. This will involve practical experience gained through working with specific teams, and understanding the role of each team through the tender process to contract award.

Placements will typically be undertaken within the areas of Bid Support and Writing, Bid Management, Pricing and Commercial Management to develop a well-rounded agile skill set and experience.

It is a permanent role which is full-time, based at our Head Offices in Basingstoke.  The team have been working from home during the pandemic but will commence a hybrid working model from September of home / office-based working as we slowly transition our teams safely back to the office.

What will I be doing?

• You will have the opportunity to develop your business acumen by actively participating and working directly with the Bid, Commercial and Pricing teams to support the Sales team with responsive & compliant bids, accurate pricing models and appropriate terms and conditions to develop and win new business.
• Assisting in the production of slide decks for governance forums, you will be given exposure to the full governance process and how commercial decisions are made.
• You will provide administration support & gather research from multiple sources to support a variety of bid & commercial activities.
• Develop relationships with key translation providers to ensure consistency and timely high-quality translations of tender and contract documents.
• Own and produce statistical information on bid performance, key trends and KPIs.
• You will learn how to help protect the company from unacceptable risks and liabilities and how to operate in accordance and compliance with the bid process and Quality System
• Learning about our industry will be to maintain awareness of relevant technical and commercial developments in the market as well as the technologies and competencies within De La Rue
• You will also be given the opportunity to participate in projects around the Bid, Pricing and Commercial teams when suitable opportunities arise

What qualifications, experience and skills are we looking for?

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Good experience of writing to be able to take vague concepts and bring clarity and clear explanation.
• Able to quickly grasp a wide context and yet have a good eye for detail.
• Articulate and able to multi-task effectively under pressure and working to deadlines in high pressure situations
• Demonstrates innovative ideas and genuine curiosity
• Good engager of people; able to get others to deliver what’s needed
• Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
• Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages; Adobe InDesign & Illustrator knowledge desirable
• Additional languages would be advantageous, particularly Spanish / French
