The Deutsche Bank Graduate Programme is a year-long comprehensive programme designed to provide you with exposure to a range of fascinating projects and ongoing professional and technical training to develop the skills you need to grow your career. You’ll feel supported by a network of peers and mentors and benefit from our global wellbeing programme.
About the business division
Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the bank, its clients and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality, independent analysis and actively promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.
The Company Research & Sales team sits within Deutsche Bank Research and looks to provide our clients with detailed financial analysis and recommendations on whether to buy, hold, or sell an equity investment. You will be assisting asset managers in deciding which stocks to invest in within specific sectors. This involves formulation of stock and sector-level investment theses, ongoing authoring and production of written research to promote investment views and marketing of those views to internal and external clients. You will leverage relationships with companies under coverage as part of channel checks and due diligence efforts, while also organising ad hoc road-shows, client events and conferences.
About the role
Upon joining the Bank you will begin your learning journey with our global orientation, followed by professional skills training and technical financial training.
During your first year with us you will benefit from a graduate learning journey, comprising both technical and professional skills training, further enhancing your learning experience.
Working on our day-to-day business as well as on special research projects, you will contribute to the development of new ideas for helping our customers achieve their financial goals. The projects you work on will require your interpretative skills, an instinct for trends and innovations, and an ability to work independently, although you’ll benefit from intensive mentoring and structured feedback.
From day one, you’ll be exposed to real market issues impacting companies. You will also contribute to our research publications and be involved in the creation of investment strategies, tools or models. Your learning curve will be steep, but you’ll have plenty of support and guidance from managers and mentors.
The specific tasks that you deal with will depend on your role within the team. You will be trained by the best, evolve professionally as well as personally, and build a firm foundation upon which to specialise later.
What we look for
We recruit students and graduates who are intelligent and adaptable with excellent communication skills. They have degrees in many different disciplines. Even though good levels of numeracy are important for some roles, you won’t necessarily need a formal mathematical or financial background. Our comprehensive training programmes will give you all the technical knowledge you’ll need to build a career with us.
Please note that to apply for our 2024 Graduate Programme you must graduate in 2024 or have graduated in the last 12 months (i.e., in 2023).
