Diageo interns have the best of all worlds. Our hands-on, accelerated learning programmes are perfect for people who are curious and have an ability to learn.  You will spend your days right at the heart of an enormous global organisation where you will help create a bold new future for our iconic brands.

    Who are we?

Diageo is one of the world’s leading producers of premium drinks. We have an outstanding collection of over 200 brands, old and new, large and small, global and local – that are enjoyed in more than 180 countries around the world.

Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to our purpose which values everybody irrespective of background, disability, religion, gender identity, sexuality or ethnicity. We know that for our business to thrive, we depend on having diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which we operate and to reflect our broad consumer base. We view diversity as one of the key enablers that helps our business to grow and our values, purpose and standards set the conditions for us to respect the unique contribution each person brings.

    How does the programme work?

Join us for an 8-12 week Summer internship and get first-hand experience of a Commercial Sales career working with some of the most iconic brands in the world. Taking iconic, timeless brands like Baileys, Guinness and Smirnoff and finding them new generations of shoppers, new untapped markets, new reasons to be purchased, and new places to be sold.

You’ll be immersed in the sales process from the beginning. Our Commercial Sales teams spend time building relationships with Diageo partners and working with customers to improve sales. They are responsible for ensuring our brands are successfully promoted, readily available and well presented to anyone who wants to buy them.

During the internship you will have the opportunity to excel in one of the areas across our Commercial Sales teams such as Field Sales, Account Management, Customer Marketing, Shopper and Customer Activation, Innovation and Reserve. You’ll discover everything you need to know about our brands, our competitors, the market and customers.

Throughout the internship, you’ll have a combination of training with a learning curriculum, mentoring and coaching from respected colleagues and, most importantly, real world, on-the-job experience. From the beginning you’ll be working on projects that will develop and improve your skill set. You’ll be able to make a real contribution to the business while building a global network of relationships that will support your career.

    Who are we looking for?

Character is everything. You’ll need to be a curious, flexible, self-motivated team-player who loves to turn ideas into action and someone who shows integrity, respect for others and, above all, a passion for learning something new every day.

You’ll need to be an undergraduate in your penultimate year of university, be commercially aware and have an aspiration to grow a career as a leader within a FMCG company.  You must be fluent in English and although a full clean valid driver’s license is not required for our internships any future positions may require one.

Those who complete a successful internship have the potential to be offered a permanent position on our Graduate Programme after graduation!
