Working in our newly refurbished Swindon design centre, you will benefit from best in class facilities alongside some of the world’s leading engineers in mixed signal IC design. It’s a truly international environment where your ability is recognised, rewarded and challenged daily. You will work with cutting-edge technologies with some of our largest customers that lead the way in developing ICs for the latest Smartphones, Tablet PCs, Portable media devices and wireless audio. Swindon has continuously been at the forefront of engineering technology and with good travel links to London, Bristol and Bath, it is well known for its green areas and outdoor family activities. There is plenty to discover across the West Country. You will work in a very experienced team and be involved with the IC Layout of Analog Mixed Signal IC's for Automotive applications in standard technologies and tools (Cadence, DRC, LVS).
What you'll do
Learn how to develop and deliver high quality, manufacturable layouts in the agreed timescales. Support team in floor planning, placement and routing of mixed signal circuits activities.
Use state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching, ESD and latch-up prevention. Running all physical verifications as DRC/LVS/ERC/DFM and parasitic extractions to achieve high quality layout deliveries.
- Implement physical layouts for Automotive Business Line products.
- Work with an awareness and understanding of the process from physical point of view
- Attendance at all relevant project meetings, continuous assessment and reporting of timescale risks
- Layout mixed signal cells according to wafer fab design rules.
- Participate at offered layout training courses (further education/ on-the-job-training)
- Having a strong focus on design for quality (designs are properly verified, validated, and tested for long-term reliability and zero defect).
- Learn and practice the Analog on Top, Mixed Signal on Top as well as Digital on Top flows
- Work together with experienced team members to provide Layout mixed signal cells according to wafer fab design rules.
- Develop expertise in the required CAD tools (Virtuoso XL / Calibre DRC, LVS & PEX / PVS / R3D)
- Work closely in collaboration with colleagues in design and layout to minimize need for rework.
- Take proactive approach to driving own development plan, utilizing team members and internal development opportunities.
- Develop skills using state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching accuracy, parasitic reduction and yield optimization.
What we are looking for
- Solid understanding of electronics and semiconductor physics.
- Developing expertise in analog layout techniques such as floor planning, matching, latch up prevention and verification.
- Skilled use of required IT software (Windows / Unix / Office / Webex)
