    Are you someone who has a passion for immersive technology and exploring virtual worlds? Digital Catapult is a leading UK authority on advanced digital technology. We are looking for a person who wants to learn more about immersive technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, help with the development of immersive systems in the Internet of Things Lab, and support the UK’s first AR accelerator.

    You will work with a range of clients from start-ups to large corporations, to government departments to guide them in using immersive technologies. You’ll be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team with technologists, innovation specialists, and industry experts to help you as you explore the immersive industry. As a team, we also collaborate with many other Digital Catapult teams, including AI, 5G, IoT, DLT, Product, Design and Innovation, to deliver cutting-edge user-focused experiences.

    What we’re looking for

    • An interest in learning more about immersive technologies and the practical applications of the technology
    • This is a practical hands-on role that requires a positive and proactive approach to technical problem solving
    • An interest in trying and testing new technologies
    • Good organisational and communication skills Passion for new technologies is essential, some experience with VR and AR is strongly preferred but not essential
    • Willingness to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and thinking around industrial applications of IoT and Immersive Technologies.

    What you'll do 

    • Research and report writing for immersive and internet of things technologies
    • Speak with startups, large corporations, and government agencies about their use of technologies in their industry
    • Demonstrate immersive content and technology to visitors and assist the activities in the Immersive Lab
    • Provide assistance across Immersive and Internet of Things accelerator programmes, commercial opportunities, and research activities
    • Supporting the setup of immersive systems in the Internet of Things Lab
