You will report in to the Chapter Lead / Engineering Manager.
What you'll do
- Produce and maintain clean Java code
- Work with a diverse team of engineers
- Contribute to application architecture - develop
- Build & improving software and services through CI/CD pipelines
- Work with DevOps engineer(s) to agree on and apply best practices
- Stay on top of AWS offerings and taking advantage of new services if applicable
- Maintain, upgrade, and improve services across the business
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with development best practices
- Discuss and implement security protocols within software and services
- Promote cloud usage for scalable solutions
- Set and lead best ways of working to archive amazing engineering collaboration.
What you'll need
- Understand about developing low-latency/distributed enterprise applications in Java
- Understanding of the Spring Framework / Spring Boot
- Experience with functional programming
- Understanding of agile processes and incremental delivery, translating high level ideas to stories (requirements gathering)
- Passionate about Software Craftsmanship and Clean Code
- Passionate about Test Driven Development
- Understanding of CI/CD
- Understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code
- Understanding of different database technologies, their use cases and trade-offs e.g. SQL, NoSQL, etc.
- Understanding of messaging technologies, their use cases and trade-offs
