This role would require you to work full time at our head office in Bar Hill, Cambridge.
About the role
The primary focus of the role will be the system test of in-house software, designed for use on Domino coding and marking products. This will be across multiple platforms and will evolve as R&D output changes. You will help provide confidence in the products and verify performance and limitations.
You will be responsible for regression work on established systems ensuring quality of output from the software teams as a continuous activity, in line with software build output cadence. The work will involve hands on testing of products at system level to collect data, as well as report writing, presentation, test planning and development of test equipment or test software.
This role will be mainly independent of full test engineering work but considerate of the impact on these test operations. Long-term you will have the opportunity to mature the test process such that ATE and simulation can provide a high confidence level in product release, creating efficiency and test excellence.
About you
- The ideal candidate will have a HND, Degree or equivalent experience in suitable engineering field – software or electronics
- Experience in a working engineering environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with computer communications, programming, and languages preferred:
- Python, use of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LabView etc.
- We're looking for someone with good communication skills, who is able to present well and articulate complex subjects to a wide audience.
- This role will suit someone with a creative outlook. You will be assisting with the conception, creation, and development of tools (both HW and SW) to aid testing.
- You will need to be able to take a first principles approach to new challenges as they arrive and apply skills to suit.
- The usual Word processing and MS Office skills.
