    As a global gaming company, we’ve helped millions to fight their way through fearsome mobs in Minecraft Dungeons, battle each other and the environment in Rust Console Edition and most recently worked with Bethesda Game Studios to craft new adventures for Vault Dwellers around the world in Fallout 76.

    Most recently, we worked with Rockstar Games to bring the beloved western experience Red Dead Redemption and its horror companion Undead Nightmare together for the first time on the Nintendo Switch and modern PlayStation systems.

    We’re looking for an Undergraduate Game Concept Art Placement to join our award winning team in Middlesbrough (UK), home to the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline and countryside. We can offer up £1300 to cover the cost of UK relocation expenses (this excludes personal expenses such as rent etc.)

    This opportunity offers a year-long industry placement between September 2024 - August 2025 with a salary of £22,000 for a 2nd year university student currently studying an art related degree.

    What you'll be doing

    With support, you’ll create content for real projects and ensure the work is in line with the project's technical and artistic direction. You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from industry veterans to help push your skills and talent to the next level.

    What we're looking for

    A second year UK student currently studying an art related degree

    • Strong and inspiring portfolio of good-quality and creative concept art
    • Good understanding of art and design fundamentals and skills, including drawing, anatomy, composition, perspective, light, colour, functional design
    • Basic knowledge of game development, art creation pipelines and workflows
    • An understanding of world-building, contextual narrative and storytelling
    • Ability to receive feedback and adapt to the visual direction
    • Ability to analyse and deconstruct visual style and direction
    • Good presentation and communication skills
    • Solid traditional art skills
    • Able to work in multiple artistic styles that can range from props to characters
    • Good level of aesthetic ability, judgement and eye for detail
    • Good knowledge of Photoshop

    What does selection look like?
