About the role
Are you someone who loves writing content, producing videos, and using digital channels? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We're looking for a marketing, communication, or digital university student to join our Communications team.
Working primarily in the Internal Communications team you’ll be helping to advise, inform and engage our 3,500 colleagues across the globe. In this role, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience that will truly enhance your skillset, including:
- Content creation – writing engaging news stories, copy for campaigns and emails, creating videos and online content, this role will get your creative juices flowing
- Journalism – helping to report on what’s happening across Drax, sometimes in person as our roving reporter, you’ll learn the art of writing to inform, and how to turn corporate speak into engaging content
- Stakeholder management – dealing with colleagues at all levels, as well as liaising with design agencies, stakeholder management skills will equip you for your future career
- Campaigns and project management – helping develop overarching campaigns to keep our colleagues informed, and managing them end-to-end.

About you
To be successful in this role you’ll have an inquisitive nature, alongside drive and determination to succeed. You’ll have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and you’ll be a team player who’s able to build effective relationships. You’ll also be conscientious with an eye for detail and able to work under pressure and effectively manage priorities.

You’ll start with sending us your application, which we’ll read and review with interest, and if we’ve got any questions we’ll be in touch. Then it’s some online reasoning tests – we appreciate they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but they help us determine if you’ll be able to deliver in our graduate roles. Your main activity will be an assessment centre where not only will we get to see you in action over a number of exercises, but you’ll also get chance to meet some our current graduates, managers, and leaders, and get a real sense of our culture and environment.
