Complete your Graduate Programme in a FTSE 250 company, that’s leading the way in sustainability, and has committed to being carbon negative by 2030! We’re so excited to offer you the chance to put the theory you’re learning into practice. You’ll join us on a two-year rotation program in our Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Group Market Analysis (GMA) department.
Here you will play a leading role analysis, defining and shaping the future of our business. You might find yourself digging into the Global wood pellet market, negotiating with the national grid on energy prices, running and calibrating short- & long-term models, or helping us predict international supply/demand and price forecasts.
About the role
Working in the Strategy team will give you the opportunity to interact with people across the group and get a real feel for the organisation. It will also give you exposure to senior stakeholders, contributing to quarterly and annual board presentations.
You will develop your analytical capabilities, but most importantly you will refine your ability to communicate complex problems through simple compelling narratives.
In the Mergers and Acquisitions rotation you’ll be part of a team that works on exciting mergers and acquisitions opportunities that accelerate Drax’s drive to achieving its long-term strategic goals.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll provide valuable analysis on the commercial and market aspects of a deal and by the end of your placement have full visibility of how a transaction goes from a conception all the way through to deal execution.
In the Group Market Acquisitions team you’ll experience different areas of analytical focus and work on a range of interesting projects. You’ll put your naturally curious mindset to work every day as you deliver market analysis for key commodities and markets. You’ll be supporting your Strategy and M&A colleagues as well as several other teams to enable strategy development and support investment and commercial decisions.
What we’re looking for…
- Our placement offers are conditional based on your results, so we’re asking that you will have achieved, or be expecting to achieve a 2:1, or 2:2 with a masters in a relevant subject.
- We think numerical and analytical skills are important for this programme, with an exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage and navigate complexity.
- There will be a lot of collaboration throughout your rotations, strong communication skills and the ability to story tell through your work and data will help you along the way!
