Are you a creative thinker passionate about impactful storytelling, content creation and engaging communities? If you’re ready to use your skills to shape campaigns that truly make a difference for the residents of East Sussex, we’d love to hear from you!

    The role

As a Marketing and Content Officer in our Communications Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work across marketing, social media, traditional media, design, and web. You’ll play a key role in delivering communications projects that help East Sussex residents access essential information and services. You might help recruit more staff for key roles, publicise new features at our libraries, find imaginative ways to improve what people know about road safety or make sure as many parents as possible know about holiday food and fun programmes for children.

Creativity and attention to detail will be key as you create and deliver campaign activation plans, social media strategies and engaging content for a variety of channels (social media, blogs, newsletters). You will manage both organic and paid content to help strengthen the impact of the council’s services and ensuring staff, members, residents and businesses are kept informed.

Collaboration will be key as you work with teams such as graphics and web to ensure each project is delivered in the most effective way. You’ll also have the responsibility of selecting the right channels for each project, ensuring that all communications are targeted to the appropriate audiences, both internally and externally.

    About you

    • Strong understanding of digital communications, including creating social media strategies and managing both organic and paid content.
    • Experience in content creation and communications across both digital and traditional platforms.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging content and messages that resonate and drive engagement with diverse audiences.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teams (such as design and web).
    • A knack for analysing data, uncovering insights, and using these to drive better results in future campaigns.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic team and make a real impact, apply today and be part of something meaningful in East Sussex!
