    Eaton's Aerospace manufacturing site in South Molton is now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly successful team. This role will suit either a fresh graduate or a seasoned manufacturing professional.

    What you’ll do

    As part of the Post Development Support (PDS) Engineering team this role provides Mechanical Design and Project Engineering support to the Production cells at the South Molton site covering primarily aircraft fuel system products for a variety of civil and military aerospace applications. The role supports the Manufacturing function with process, obsolescence and design related issues including review and approval of permits and concessions for non-conforming product, Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders for the change to design data.

    Responsibilities:

    • Investigate and sentence non-conformance requests, provide general technical support, manage obsolescence etc. whilst providing robust technical justifications for decisions. Drive to meet turnaround time goals/commitment dates for closure of Engineering activities. These activities have a direct impact on monthly business finances (sales and scrap) and customer on time delivery.
    • Review and provide clear documentation (marked up prints) of changes required to drawings to address manufacturing issues such as obsolescence, manufacturing easement, cost out etc.
    • Support the process of creating customer approval paperwork where required, in order to gain customer approval for permanent changes to designs.
    • Support supply chain by interpreting and respond to suppliers technical inquiries relating to designs during the manufacture.
    • Participate in print reviews and liaise with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of designs.
    • Provide status updates and participate in project team meetings

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
    • Mechanical Engineering, aircraft or fuel system products would be a plus
