What impact I can make?
We want you to delve in to review, investigate and provide analysis, as we are looking to appoint a Risk Control Analyst. This role covers a range of risk, compliance, and control testing activities within the Society’s second line of defence designed to identify and mitigate operational risk.
As a key member of the risk team you will provide, data led technical analysis, on the organisation’s risk management approach.
What will you do?
- Review key control testing outcomes undertaken by first line of defence risk teams to identify trends and emerging risks.
- Provide data to provide oversight and challenge to risk management activities, including incident recording and management, exception reporting and risk & control registers.
- Support the first line in developing high quality risk and control registers
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc risk investigation and analysis to raise risk and controls awareness, to ensure that root causes are identified, encouraging risk owners to put mitigations in place to avoid reoccurrence.
- Present risk reporting and schedule meetings with the operational teams on risk status; monthly collating/investigation/ recording of incidents and follow-up checks on completion of mitigating actions.
- Produce risk analysis, insight and reporting around key business risk areas to support effective business partnering and oversight.
- Monitor completion of audit treatment actions ensuring timely updates to relevant owners to ensure close out of actions within risk appetite.
- Use testing outputs and analysis to support and inform management of Risk & Compliance 3rd Party changes.
About you
You will have a strong academic record with a keen interest in data analytics and are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in risk management. We need an analytical person who is an effective communicator and can interact with colleagues at all levels and be able to embrace change.
Experience you will bring:
- Can demonstrate the ability to understand and summarise complex information.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert data into valuable insights.
- Ability to solve problems quickly.
- Have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bring an understanding of the building society model (desirable)
