As Group Product Manager for the Apps domain, you will set the vision for our flagship Core app and our Espresso app, and with your product teams you will define and deliver a roadmap that will help us achieve our Vision Statement:
We will be the indispensable source of news analysis, ideas and connection for the world’s most curious people. Our intuitive and habit-forming products will bring the authority, rigour and wit of our journalism to life whenever, wherever and however our audiences need.
Accountabilities
- Reports to the Head of Product
- Line manages 3-4 product managers in the Apps domain
- Partners and collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders across editorial, design, engineering, acquisitions & retention, audience and data.
How you will contribute
- You’ll lead on major change initiatives across your Apps product domain, and will seek out continuous improvements in both your products and your teams and their processes
- You’ll lean on your extensive experience of managing iOS and Android app products to help define the app-product strategy, and evangelise this strategy to senior leaders as well as your teams
- You’ll work closely with your stakeholders and teams to deliver that strategy, articulating success, identifying challenges, and solving problems as you go
- Your previous line management experience will help you successfully steer and support your product managers in achieving their team missions
- You’ll unite people towards a common goal, ensuring effective collaboration across functions
- You will be adept at understanding audience consumption and subscriber data trends, and will use this to measure impact and define the next challenge
- You’ll have laser focus on value prioritisation and impact for the business and user, balancing delivery and quality at all times
- You’ll bring experience of story mapping, ideation workshops and roadmap planning
- You’ll bring a strong understanding of subscriptions or ecommerce business values and processes, and be able to identify areas of growth and improvement
