    As a member of the Marketing team the Social Media Executive will report to the Content Manager and will assist withdelivery of the social media strategy, digital content and key digital communication projects.

    The role

    Candidates will be expected to work with external businesses and partners on projects and have a strong eye for detail along with high levels of literacy and numeracy. KPI reporting and reporting against objectives will also be part of the remit.

    The role will include liaising with stakeholders and key partners – candidates should have some past experience of technical and creative briefing of internal and external teams.

    This is a hands-on role where you’ll be delivering a range of integrated digital communications across all of Ecotricity’s social channels to deliver key objectives, in-line with the overall communications plan.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Assist the Content Manager with day to day social media activity (posting content, responding to comments etc.) across our social media pages. This involves scheduling posts ahead of time using a social media management platform.
    • Assist with developing campaign activity in-line with the overall social media strategy and communications plan. This will involve cross-functional working with other stakeholders in the business.
    • Monthly reporting on social campaign performance, understanding these metrics in real-terms and recommending ways to improve.
    • Assist with the development of the social media content calendar in conjunction with the appropriate stakeholders across the business and your line manager.
    • Understand the various social audiences across different platforms and develop and target our content based on this knowledge for best results.
    • The ability to produce creative and engaging content with the appropriate members of the communications team. This will include writing detailed briefs, drafting content if necessary, drafting social media copy and giving constructive feedback on written copy and digital assets.
    • Help to create content within Ecotricity’s key themes: Energy, Transport, Food and Nature.
    • Assist in the growth of our Social Media channels in terms of followers, likes, shares and positive engagement.
    • To support cause-related marketing events and campaigns with social media content e.g. WOMAD, Green Britain Partnership meetings and Vegan Camp Out.
    • To be the key liaison between the Marketing team and the social media responders in the Customer Service team. This will involve working closely with the Customer Service Team Leaders to ensure their agents are responding quickly and effectively to inbound social media queries. You may need to respond to brand-related comments and messages, so a thorough understanding of our ethos is essential, but the rest of the contact will be managed by the Customer Service team.
    • Work with the PPC Manager to assist with social media ads.
    • Assist with the creation of visual and audio-visual content, if and when needed

    About You

    Essential Skills & Expertise

    • Excellent understanding of Social Media platforms (primarily Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok) including a working knowledge of paid promotions.
    • Excellent copywriting skills.
    • Ability to work easily and effectively with colleagues from all areas of the business.

    Desirable

    • 1+ years of Digital Comms or Marketing experience
    • Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator etc)
