About the role
We are now looking for a Graduate Project Manager to join our team based in Cardiff.
This position is to start in September 2023. First stage of our interview process shall be an assessment center in March, followed by an in business interview.
Project management is the application of processes, methods, skills, knowledge and experience to achieve specific project objectives according to the project acceptance criteria within agreed parameters. Project management has final deliverables that are constrained to a finite timescale and budget.
A key factor that distinguishes project management from just 'management' is that it has this final deliverable and a finite timespan, unlike management which is an ongoing process. Because of this a project professional needs a wide range of skills; often technical skills, and certainly people management skills and good business awareness.
Project managers are now employed in almost every industry and sector in the country. In the UK the digital/IT sector and construction/infrastructure sectors are some of the largest and most established users of project management techniques.
That's because a lot of the work has that clear 'start and end' that requires project management, rather than just ongoing management. If you join our programme, you'll specialise in rail and other significant national infrastructure.
Project management techniques can be applied to most settings so it's a great skillset which can take your career as high as you like and all around the world.
