About the Internship
As an Eki Intern, you will work alongside Eki Consultants on challenging projects with international clients across diverse industries.
We aim to make your experience with us as close to real life as possible so that you get a true and realistic idea of who we are, the work we do and the kinds of projects you can expect to work on as a data science consultant. So, from day one, you will be collaborating on a real client project and getting involved with Eki life, and as both a data scientist and consultant, you will use and develop advanced data analytics and consulting skills throughout your time with us.
You'll also take on a small R&D project, allowing you to use the knowledge you have gained to model, analyse and present business insights to the management at Ekimetrics.
Responsibilities
From discovery meetings to final recommendations, responsibilities include:
- Gathering and analysing data;
- Building statistical and machine learning models;
- Translating quantitative insights into strategic recommendations and delivering the final results.
The projects will push you to create innovative approaches as an owner of your projects and our close-knit team will guide your growth to build expertise on best-practice methodologies and industry knowledge. Each member of our team takes a vested interest in the development of your technical skills and business acumen.

Data Analysis and Model Construction
- Utilise advanced statistical and machine learning techniques and best data practices to help the team progress through project work;
- Develop a logical story combining data and industry knowledge to share actionable insights that will drive our clients' businesses.
Strategic partnerships with clients
- Gain a deep understanding of client’s business context and experience.
- Deliver findings and battle plans with excellence and confidence.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses that further develop projects and client relationships by parameterising the business questions.
Ekimetrics R&D
- Support our fast growth by contributing to the development of new methodologies and offers.
About you
We are looking for people who can wear 2 hats – the data scientist and the strategic consultant.
Data Skills
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics, economics, engineering, or related analytical field;
- Some prior experience (academic or professional) in data analysis/modelling / advanced analytics;
- Love of all things data and an extensive knowledge of statistics or applied mathematics;
- Experience using analytical methodologies to answer questions;
- Experience with statistical software such as Python or R
Consulting Skills
- Prior internship in a consulting environment or interest in working as aconsultant;
- Strong interest inMarketing Analytics & business issues;
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting;
- Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment;
- Continuously strives for their best;
- Good sense of humour!
Additional Requirements
- Students in their penultimate or final year or very recently graduated.
- Must be able to work onsite in London, UK; 2-3 days a week in the office
- Must already be eligible to work in the UK, (e.g. UK/Irish passport holder, holds EU settled status, Tier 4/Student visa holder)
- Must be available between 1st July and 30th August 2024.
- Must be able to work full-time (40 hours a week)
Interview process
- Online technical test (HackerRank) 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- HR Interview & Introduction to Ekimetrics 15-30 minutes.
- Assessment with a consultant - 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Case study & final assessment - 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Interviews will commence In February after the closing date.
