Element has an opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our growing team within our Aerospace testing business. This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing organisations within Testing. Responsibilities
The Graduate Scheme is a structured two-year programme, in which you will gain experience and understanding of the different areas and functions of our business. This will build the foundations for an exciting career in the Testing, Inspection, & Certification industry within Element.
Travel between our UK and / or European businesses will be required throughout the programme, with time spent on placements throughout a number of different business areas. This will range from time spent within our Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics Laboratory getting involved with all aspects of the testing projects.
Who are we looking for?
The testing sector offers diverse opportunities within many disciplines and industries including but not limited to: Materials Science, Engineering, Aerospace, Space, Mechanics, and Hydraulics. Candidates should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educated to degree standard, in an engineering or science subject
- Analytical & inquisitive in nature
- A natural curiosity of how things work and strong problem-solving skills
- Technically focused
- Keen interest in all aspects of product safety, materials science, and engineering
- Methodical and highly organised: capable of meeting deadlines, seeing problems through and overcoming obstacles
- Able to prioritise and reach decisions quickly and effectively
- Can make informed decisions and confidence to stand by / justify these decisions
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills and strong attention to detail
- Presentation skills
