Job Description
You will work 37.5 hours a week alongside the multidisciplinary team at Braeburn House; a modern purpose-built rehabilitation and recovery service for males suffering from a primary diagnosis of mental illness that has already progressed in their journey of recovery but still require further support and intensive interventions.
With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will manage a dedicated caseload, which will see you carry out occupational therapy assessments, treatments and evaluations of interventions to identify mental and physical barriers to service user’s abilities in their day-to-day living.
You will provide 1:1 and group sessions to support their individual needs as you improve their level of functioning within various activities to encourage independence.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will support and engage in team activities, such as mental health assessments, team risk assessment, and team audit/service development.

Your Responsibilities
- Plan and implement individual and or group interventions, using skills to assess, grade, modify and review and evaluate a clinical intervention to deliver therapeutic goals
- Apply an evidence-based approach to clinical interventions including the use of standardised assessments and outcome measures
- Contribute to and participate in the multidisciplinary assessment process
- Undertake a clinical risk assessment to inform the multidisciplinary care planning process and assist in the creation of risk management plans
- To be aware of equality and diversity issues so that the service user receives interventions appropriate to their cultural and religious needs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions
- Membership with the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT)
