The Inside Sales Engineer will prepare technical Control Valve proposals by offering an engineered solution for customers applications, technically review process and lead customer orders!
Working as part of the Inside Sales team, in conjunction with Field Sales, this role will be responsible for presenting with customers directly to prequalify enquiries, to ensure the customer receives the solution that fits their needs, then follow the quotation up, sometimes in co-operation with Field Sales and clarify any queries!
Responsibilities
- Respond to technical sales enquiries from customers, qualifying all enquiries to ensure proposals demonstrate Emerson Process Management’s full product and capabilities portfolio, improving all bookings opportunities and quote to order ratio, including quote follow up;
- Ensure all proposals meet the customers’ application and operational needs, are technically engineered, accurate and commercially verified, offering the best solutions that highlight customer business benefits;
- Liaise with Field Sales and Account Management to prioritize effort, collect competitive intelligence, agree product direction and price strategy to improve customer service consistent with account plans that contribute to their ongoing development;
- Using standardized European and Business Unit gold standard processes, ensure the timely entering of orders into the sales order processing system verifying that all data is checked and accurate;
- Be organized in your approach to quotations, time management and be able to prioritize others when needed within your specific work area;
- Increase opportunities for growing scope within Flow Controls and all other Emerson Process Management business units, wherever possible;
- Work with Field Sales to report on quotation and project potential using Oracle Customer Relationship Management (CRM);
- Liaise with Credit Management to resolve any invoice discrepancies and help reduce the company DSO levels;
- Ensure full compliance with legal and Company requirements with regards to Trade Compliance and Ethical Business and follow vital procedures;
- Occasional customer F2F visits where vital, to develop relationships and become a trusted advisor;
- Technically clean & load customer orders into business system, handle dates, ITC and commercial terms.
You will need
- Educated to HNC/Degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent, or proven experience within the industry;
- Experience of operating within the Control Valve or Process Control market;
- Demonstrate ability to communicate well across a matrix helpful and demonstrates think customer values;
- Background and experience in Inside Sales and/or Customer Service equivalent roles, essential;
- Experience of using product and business systems and standard business reporting tools, for example Oracle and CRM systems, advantageous;
- Demonstrate ability to communicate at both technical and commercial level to resolve customer issues;
- Awareness of LEAN principles, desirable;
- Knowledge of Fisher products and portfolio would be advantageous;
- English proficiency to business standard essential;
- Computer literacy essential with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Excel, Work and PowerPoint] essential.
