    European Tour Productions is a BAFTA winning production team and largest producer of ‘live’ golf coverage in the world, producing coverage at up to 50 events annually.  These events take place in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.  Reporting to the Head of Golf and the Executive Producer, the Assistant Producer will join the ‘Live’ production team and assisting in the production of all live European Tour Golf programming in the office and on location.

    The successful applicant will be trained in several junior roles and will start by being responsible for the researching and generating of statistical graphics for the live programme, work with the commentary team to research facts and statistics to be used in commentary and learn to PA. They may also be required to carry out other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.

    The ideal candidate will have a calm and professional manner when working under pressure and be able to work using their initiative, without close supervision.  Good general sports knowledge would be advantageous with an interest in golf beneficial. 

    Previous experience of working in a live OB environment would be favorable. Experience of shooting on DV cam would also be desirable. Production Health & Safety Training would also be advantageous. A full clean driving license is essential as you will be required to operate a Golf buggy.

    This role is ideal for someone who wants to start their career in sports production and a ‘live’ outside broadcast environment. Given the demands of the role, candidates must be prepared to travel internationally up to 30 weeks a year. With the ever-evolving landscape of Live Sports production, we are excited for the future as we turn to remote working practices from hubs in the UK. Applicants should be able to adjust to changing workflows as the live OB production landscape changes.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • To assist the Producer and Director in all editorial aspects of the “live” golf programming, both in the office and on location
    • To learn and develop skill set in a range or roles on the “live” production team: Roles include but are not limited to….
    • Live Stats Position – research and generating Statistics to be shown on screen.
    • Commentary Team AP – Research and compile stats for the commentary team to supplement their notes.
    • PA role – communicating to broadcasters whilst on air and briefing them with necessary information.  
    • Conducting research for the programming, fact checking, finding archive material as required
    • To research, prepare and edit packages on Adobe Premiere
    • Have good knowledge of Adobe Premiere & Adobe Creative Cloud.
    • To be able to write scripts to features, packages.
    • Adhere to compliance guidelines for broadcaster/client as appropriate
    • You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of role.

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Keen sports knowledge – golf knowledge beneficial.
    • Able to demonstrate excellent research ability and attention to detail .
    •  Experienced of working in a team.

    Desirable

    • Experience of working in a live sports environment.
    • Experience of working on live sports outside broadcasts.
    • Good knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Cloud.
    • Competent in editing, shooting and script writing.
    • Ability to operate EVS machine.
    • Experience directing cameras and shoots
    • Experience supervising edits, shoots

    Full clean driving license is essential as you will be required to operate golf buggies.

    Working Conditions

    • This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge.
    • Average 40 hours per week
    • International travel for up to 30 weeks per year to various golf tournaments and events
    • Weekend work and long shifts
