PLP’s Programming department is looking for a dynamic, energetic, creative, team-orientated Editorial Assistant, who thrives under the challenge of producing cutting-edge live sports coverage. Your role wouldn’t stop there – we are looking for someone who has a thirst to learn new skills and challenges the status quo. This role will allow an ambitious individual to make it their own, supporting the wider team of Assistant Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers. Sport is an unpredictable medium and we can guarantee every day will be different and challenging. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting on the editorial production of programmes for the Premier League.
- Plan, research and edit content for any Programming dept strand.
- Working alongside on-screen & senior staff to prepare analysis for all studio programming.
- Working on ‘Fanzone’ to source worldwide phone and video callers and user-generated content.
- To supervise post-production editing as necessary.
- To coordinate and/or work in a live studio environment.
- To organise and lead occasional basic ENG and Feature shoots.
- Responsible for adhering to compliance guidelines for broadcasters/clients as appropriate.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong editorial sense for stories.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate.
- Excellent customer focus skills (representing the face of the company/programme to the public/potential contributors).
- Understanding and experience of non-linear edit systems.
Working Conditions
- This is a fixed term contract until May 2023, based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge
- Working hours are an average of 40 hours per week
- You will be required to work weekends, unsocial hours as well as over the seasonal holidays
- Some travel to national outside broadcasts will be necessary.
