    What you'll do

    The MSO (Multi Skilled Operator) role is a crucial position that works in collaboration with Studio Resources Managers and Engineering. As an MSO, you will play a key role in supporting all studio productions at Stockley Park. 

    Your responsibilities will involve utilising your technical skills and expertise across a range of operational roles within the studio and gallery facilities. This includes tasks such as equipment setup and maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with live broadcasts, coordinating with production teams, and ensuring smooth operations during studio productions. 

    Working across a variety of programming and clients, you will operate studio and gallery equipment, which can include cameras, sound, lighting, and more - your technical expertise will shine. 

    As part of the Studio Team, you will also prepare equipment for studio rig days, ensuring everything is in place for seamless productions. From cameras to lighting, you'll play a crucial role.

    Key responsibilities

    • Operate key equipment on the studio floor or in the production control room (PCR), often in a live environment. This can mean working with cameras, sound, vision, lighting or replay systems such as EVS and Dreamcatcher, and will depend on operational experience of studio equipment and expertise in these technical areas. 
    • Preparing equipment for studio rig days, assisting on both rig and de-rig days. This may include cameras, lighting, vision, EVS, sound, graphics systems, floor monitors and a range of other technical equipment. Whilst in the studio, assist the Studio Technical Manager (STM) with wrap and final closing down of studio at the end of each day.  
    • Assist with technical maintenance, care of equipment, and report any faulty equipment to the Engineering Department or STM in a timely manner, supporting minimal impact on the production. Make sure equipment is correctly and safely stored away after use. 
    • Assist Engineering with housekeeping of tech stores, studios and PCRs. 
    • Assist freelance studio crew with knowledge of IMG kit and processes, if necessary, with the approval of the STM or operational supervisor. 
    • Support Studio Resources Managers (SRM) with planning and efficiencies for studio productions. 
    • Assist the SRMs or Engineering with sourcing hired equipment and co-ordination of hired equipment. 
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with production teams, studio crew and IMG colleagues. 
    • Comply with all IMG studio Health and Safety policies, promoting a positive safety culture in all areas at IMG Studios 

    You will have the following strengths

    • Previous experience in a multi-skilled technical operations role, or significant experience in at least one area of technical operation in studio production. 
    • Excellent understanding of the production process. 
    • Experience of working in a live studio environment. 
    • Good knowledge of tapeless production workflows, broadcast equipment and systems, including cameras, sound, vision, lighting, graphics, post-production, media management, MCR and playout. 
    • Operational experience and expertise in at least one technical area of studio production, e.g., cameras, vision, lighting, sound, replay (EVS or Dreamcatcher).  
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the studio environment, including legislation for WORKING at height, manual handling, noise, electricity at work and a good understanding and importance of the risk assessment process. 
    • Excellent client facing skills.
