Context
Engie sees Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as one of the keystones in its long-term strategy towards net-zero CO2 emissions. Hence, the group aims to be one of the global leaders on BESS and targets a portfolio of 10 GW by 2030, worldwide. Given the RES penetration in the UK, Engie sees the country as a key geography for its BESS strategy and targets to reach 600MW of installed capacity by 2030.
The role
The Valuation & Analysis team (V&A) is looking for a VIE in London whose mission is to support the development of Engie’s BESS optimizer. Based on state-of-the-art machine learning and optimization's tools, this optimizer aims to extract value from the short-term power markets while securing the long-term physical safety of the asset.
Education and professional background
• BAC 5Degree in Engineering Mathematics Physics Finance Statistics or Data Science
Hard skills
- Strong analytical and programming skills (python)
- Good understanding of the energy business and power markets
- Fluent in English
- Having experience on AWS is a plus
