At the Environment Agency, we work hard to protect and enhance the environment for the benefit of everyone and we make coming to work life enhancing too. This is your opportunity to come and work with us and help make a difference to the environment and communities in our area.
Working in one of our Asset Performance teams you will be helping the teams manage and operate our flood defence assets across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
The work is varied so you may be working on supporting funding bids, asset replacement programmes, contingency planning, or maintenance and repair programmes. Part of your role will be managing the team’s enquiries mailbox and providing admin support for meetings, procurement and work planning.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You are required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training is given. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and circumstances.
We are fully committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We welcome flexible working patterns including part time hours.
The team
Our Asset Performance Teams are responsible for ensuring that our flood defence assets are constructed, inspected, maintained, and operated in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Our assets reduce flood risk to people and property, so they must operate when required to our agreed service levels and standards. During a flood event, we operate our flood assets and work closely with partner organisations to protect people and property.
